サンクスギビングの休み！

ぼくの一番好きの祝日はサンクスギビングです！　このしゅくじつだけにかぞく全員は一生に合って食べますよ。いとこがたくさんいます。さいねんしょうのいとこは、三週間だけです！そのいとこのなまえはイサベラ・やすこちゃんとよびます。わたしたちの曾お祖母さんのなめえです。曾お祖母さんは今年の春に、九十九さいになりました。わたしいのかぞくのみんなは曾お祖母さんがだいすきでいつもそんけいします。
このサンクスギビングの休みに、かぞくとあって、いとことあそんで、たくさんたべました。七面鳥がすきですか？まいねん、サンクスギビングに七面鳥をたべます。だいがくのたべものはだいじょうぶですけど、母のほうがおいしいです。

らいねんのサンクスギビングに、わたしのかぞくと一生にさわぎませんか？

PE GOALS AND SELF REFLECTION

I feel that I have made considerable progress in the first 7 weeks of this course in terms of my pronunciation and listening abilities.   At first, I never really thought about the pitch of vocabulary words and just focused on learning the sounds themselves.  As I have become more comfortable with the sounds of the kana, I have become more able to distinguish and use the proper pitch patterns.  I had a goal to do lots of shadowing to practice, but I have not been able to keep up with that goal.   I will renew my efforts to shadow in the Speak Everywhere program more.  

I would also like to set two new goals.   I would like to take what I have learned about the pitch of individual words in Japanese, and start to apply that more naturally to longer sentences.   I also will focus on not placing too much of a verbal emphasis on my particles when I speak.   Whenever I hear recordings of myself I always think that it sounds very unnatural when I do that.

みんなさん、生け花が好きですか？　ぼくは大好きで。こんしゅのしゅまつに母といけばなをします。だいがくで、じかんがないからいけばなをあまりしません。でも、ひまのときにいけばなはおもしろいです。わたしのいけばなはじょうずじゃない。でも、母はよくれんしゅしますからははのいけばなはわるくないですよ。
